New Review of Yamacraw Bluff on Amazon

I have to confess, I get excited when I see a new review of my books on Amazon or Goodreads. It is especially gratifying when they are super positive and also ‘nail it’ in terms of my intent and underlying reason for writing about this period.

Here is a recent review from Scott W. Barnett that really captured some of the underlying rationale for the book – especially as it relates to highlighting Georgia’s ban on slavery in 1734.

This book is an intriguing historical perspective of the founding and tribulations of the Georgia colony. I have visited the areas of London, South Carolina, and Georgia that are the settings for the book, and was truly brought back in time. The characters and their adventures are an engaging mix of fiction and fact. I could feel for them and was amazed at their bravery, ambition and fortitude. It also is a story about morals, integrity and standing by convictions to build a welcoming community for all people regardless of race or religion. The author, Luke Pittaway, clearly has a passion for this subject and it shows in his thoughtful, well-balanced treatment of a significant yet controversial era of American history.

You can check out the trilogy page here: Tom Ellis Trilogy (2 book series) Kindle Edition. I’d better get on and begin writing the third book now!
